We are honoured to have been chosen to publish Johnny Wood’s debut literary work.
He is a gifted, all-round artist whose life is as exciting and intriguing as his art.
His first book – entitled Angel Behind the Door (A European Journey) – takes us on a sensational ride as we follow the protagonist on his journey through Europe, an experience leading to self-discovery and awareness which will leave the reader hungry for more.
The author has recently shared his thoughts with us about his book and the inspiration behind it.
‘When I wrote Angel Behind the Door I really got into the process; getting ideas down on paper, researching detail, constructing sentences and finding the right words for what I wanted to say. I took elements of my own experiences and used those as a place from which to explore my interest in and love of English language. I suppose for me it is about romanticising life like an old bluesman or a poet might do, finding positives and acknowledging the negatives while getting to the essence of a situation a character might find him or herself in.’
Johnny Wood graduated in 2006 as a mature student, gaining a degree in Fine Art. Examples of his art can be found at http://www.johnwood-art.com/.
He recently contributed the artwork for Spinoza Gambit’s instrumental album Wayward & Upward. In the 1980’s and early 90’s he was a member of renowned bands Episode Four and East Village. The records they made during that period are still highly sought after. Johnny has been teaching English for more than five years and now lives in the Far East.
