Kelly, the blind kitten, is SAFE!

Posted on July 28, 2021November 25, 2024 By CanisTrigger No Comments on Kelly, the blind kitten, is SAFE!

It is just thrilling to see that our sweet Kelly’s life has been spared.

I think about all the others like Kelly, here in Sweden, with no one to fight for them and no brave veterinarian who would put a lot on the line to save them.
However, this is an important victory that involves so many wonderful individuals, starting from those at Kattjouren and Kattkommando Syd, to the ones in the United States who made the story public and shared it extensively on social media and through the various petitions.

The Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet publishes an article about the positive outcome of little Kelly’s ordeal.

Deserving praise, respect and admiration is Shalini Persson, founder of Kattjouren (www.kattjouren.nu), for her ardent dedication to campaigning for stray, abandoned cats, and for her passionate commitment to save Kelly’s life.
Particularly appreciated are Shalini’s wise words: “’Now we will keep the lid on Kelly. We take no risks so no one gets to know where she is. The risk is that at some point this situation could happen again. She could have lost her life. It must never be repeated.”

It is indeed a matter of life and death. In Sweden, it is vital to keep elderly or disabled pets far from indiscreet eyes. Swedes are uneducated and ignorant when it comes to animals with disabilities so I would advise (cat) rescues to use private networking when dealing with such cases, in order to protect the animals from people like the ignorant and stupid woman who reported Kelly to the authorities.

This story has had a happy ending but the fight to expose Sweden and the plight of all animals in this country goes on.
Watch this space for more posts and testimonies, and thank you all for your invaluable support.
