In the early hours of Wednesday, October 6, I had a strange dream. I dreamt I was driving along a busy road and saw what I thought were four dogs. One had been hit by a car and was lying on the side of the road while the other three were just wondering around trying to avoid the heavy traffic. I now realise what I saw in my dream were not dogs but four beautiful wolves.
Early in the afternoon of the same day, I came across the news that Skansen zoo in Stockholm had just killed four healthy wolves that were part of an alleged conservation project deemed uninteresting and therefore replaced by a new one involving mountain foxes.
It appeared that the wolves had been killed just at the same time I was having my strange dream.
This is yet again another horrible event involving the senseless killing of animals in Sweden where they have no voice, no rights and are not even considered sentient beings.
Places like Skansen zoo murder innocent animals on a daily basis, yet they continue to profit from the ignorance and gullibility of the Swedish people.
It is also quite worrying to realise how the rest of the world remains oblivious to the horror, the suffering and death of both domestic and wild animals in Sweden.
Skansen should be officially investigated for its murderous activities, and hopefully shut down for good.
When the new “project” will run its course, the foxes will also be killed, just like the wolves before them.
Open your eyes and look at this unbearable amount of cruelty. You MUST stop it. We MUST stop it.
The power is in our hands.
Rest in peace, my sweet darlings. There are no words to describe the pain of knowing you were robbed of life by a despicable bunch of humans. The least that we can do is try to stop the killing, and we will fight for you and for the many innocent creatures murdered by this uncivilised country full of hypocrisy and ignorance.
